Job Summary Experienced clinical RN that takes initiative to maximize effectiveness of the role assigned. Exhibits a high level of adaptability with daily assignments. Develop clini! cal expertise in Pre-Op and Post-Op as well as the PACU. Responsible for delivery of efficient, safe, and therapeutic nursing care to the peri anesthesia patient during the Perioperative experience utilizing nursing principles and the nursing process.
Demonstrates experienced assessment skills and competence in decision making in the delivery of care to patients and families. Implements and maintains the appropriate standard of care based on age specific categories recommended by the Medical Executive Committee. Contributes to the Children's Hospital Mission - TO PROVIDE THE FINEST PEDIATRIC HEALTH SERVICES TO ALL CHILDREN IN AN ENVIRONMENT THAT FOSTERS EXCELLENCE IN RESEARCH AND MEDICAL EDUCATION. THE HOSPITAL WILL SERVE AS AN ADVOCATE TO ALL CHILDREN AND WORK TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC ABOUT ISSUES AFFECTING CHILDREN’S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING.
Education MSN degree with less than one year pediatric nursing experience, or BSN degree with one year or more p! ediatric nursing experience, or Nursing Diploma or Associate N! ursing Degree with two years or more recent pediatric nursing experience. Experience One year of critical care or PACU experience required. Experience in Preoperative Surgical unit preferred. Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries Currently licensed as a registered nurse in the state of Alabama.
Current BLS certification. Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification strongly preferred.
