This job description represents patient care directed toward Step Down areas, Critical Care areas, and general care areas. Pediatric Therapists are cred! entialed therapists maintaining competencies, which enable them to work in environments specific to pediatric Intensive Care settings, floors, Pediatric ER and Kids Care Critical Care Transport.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Experience required:Education:
Must be licensed by the ASBRT. Neonatal/Pediatric Specialist (NPS) by the NBRC is preferred. Certification of BLS and PALS is preferred for hiral processes while mandatory upon completion of provisional period of employment.
Experience:
Experience performing the duties of a Critical Care Therapist is mandatory, while experience in pediatric and neonatal settings is preferred. Two years of Pediatric Intensive Care experience is required for Kids Care Transport, which may be achieved before or during employment at HH.
Additional Skills/Abilities:
Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritiz! ing and changing tasks frequently and quickly. Must the abilit! y to perform and recommend procedures in all areas of Respiratory Care pertaining to pediatrics and Critical Care Transport. Analytical ability with a working knowledge of statistics required in order to gather and interpret data in situations where the problems are somewhat complex.
Additional Information
Weekend and/or Holiday Rotation may be required.
