Internal Communications Manager, Strategic Response


 
Meta is looking for an Internal Communications Manager to join its Internal Communications Strategic Response team. This individual will be a key member of Facebook’s internal communications team and drive rapid response communications and proactive campaigns centered on Facebook’s most pressing issues.The successful candidate will work closely with the communications and policy team as well as with the regional and country leads and their teams globally to provide information that helps our employees understand Meta’s policies, features, and positions on public policy issues.Candidates should have a strong understanding of Meta's policies and the ability to quickly explain them. Excellent community relations, crisis communications, communications strategy, and content development skills are crucial.The ideal candidate will be able to work cross-functionally to drive teams towards a common goal. This role will work in partnership with functions across the company to collaborate. They will provide support for internal project management, steward relationships with internal and external partners, and ensure responsible sharing of data to inform key research questions.

Internal Communications Manager, Strategic Response Responsibilities:

  • Work with our communications, policy, legal, and leadership teams to build, understand and communicate corporate and product policies that support and protect our reputation
  • Drive proactive and reactive communications internally to support internal communications teams
  • Build partnerships with key internal stakeholders
  • Prepare messaging and other internal materials such as posts and briefings
  • Support product launches, policy advocacy, and other announcements
  • Engage on crisis communications topics and be able to quickly drive the team towards a strategy
  • Counsel cross-functional partners in engineering, product, policy, legal, and other groups within the company on internal communications considerations for product updates
  • Lead internal communications activities on some of Meta's most pressing and difficult issues



Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, post-graduate or degree in communications, marketing or business
  • Experience managing issues and driving crisis communications
  • 8+ years work experience, internal, corporate, public policy communications or issues management
  • Experience managing stakeholder relations at a national or international level
  • Experience working autonomously in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, and also work collaboratively on a team



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Communications experience
  • Experience distilling technology or policy concepts into language
  • Experience in the internet technology industry
