PBX Operator Job Summary:
Answers and routes all incoming calls to the various! departments within the hospital. Assist persons in house to place long distance calls. Operates in house
Paging system. Greets and processes ER patients by registering them in the Pro-med system. Communicates with the public, patients, doctors and employees in a courteous and professional manner at all times. Processes and batches daily all outgoing hospital mail. Responsible for maintaining all and paging all “Codes†overhead. Seeks to meet the needs of guests and patients of all ages (neonatal, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, geriatrics). Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor and/or Patient Accounts Manager.
Requirements:
Minimum high school graduate or successful completion of business school preferred. Typing speed of 45 WPM. Aptitude communication skills, professional, courteous, tactful demeanor in working with people and in operating the telephone. Ability to learn in a short period of time, to work fast and under stress. A! bility to perform duties without direct supervision. Neat, pro! fessional appearance at all times.
