Clerk, Mailroom - MSO [United States]


 Overview:
The Mail Clerk assists with duties and functions related to the mailroom operations of Altura MSO’s Montebello office. Helps to manage incoming and outgoing mail and parcels. Opens, sorts, and batches claim related mail. Operates mail processing software and equipment.

Responsibilities:

1. Receive, sort, and deliver all incoming mail & packages according to assigned delivery points within established time frames
2. Open claims related mail and sort based on document types
3. Create claim batches by type and prepare the batches for daily pick-up by imaging vendor.
4. Prepare medical claims records for scanning
5. Log and record certified and next day mail letters and parcels
6. Use EZ-CAP or Share to research claim issues as needed
7. Efficient operation of mail service equipment (postage meter, letter opener, folder/inserter)
8. Provide support for daily production of UM, Claim, and other correspondence
9. Clean and adjust mail service equipment as needed
10. Package and process outgoing items via USPS or UPS.
11. Ensure the privacy and security of PHI (Protected Health Information) as outlined in department policies and procedures
12. May be asked to support encounter correction projects using Transunion’s ClearIQ portal
13. Pick up incoming mail from or drop off outgoing mail to post office daily when needed
14. Pick up mail from 1401 N Montebello mail box daily when needed
15. Assist departments with special projects when assigned
16. May be asked to provide courier support for special projects
17. Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications:
1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Class “C” Driver License with “0” points preferred. Maximum allowable points = 1 points.
3. Prior experience with health care preferred.
4. Prior experience with Quadient/Neopost equipment a plus.
