Risk Engineer [Sweden]


 

You can call it a Risk Engineer for Industrial Sweden. But we are looking for an experienced adviser that can stand by our client’s side – “Managing risks together”. In the best of worlds, property fires and machinery breakdowns never occur – that’s why we need Risk Engineers.
About the role
As a Risk Engineer in the Property Risk Management Team, you will be working primarily with fire risks, as well as electrical and machinery risks. If you have experience from process industry risks, there is an interesting portfolio to get into. You will be conducting risk assessments and client consultations based on Nordic and International standards. You will also be able to participate in development projects within the Risk Engineering area.

Most of our clients are large multinational organizations that set very high standards for their Risk Management operations. Our close co-operation with our clients has provided us with a solid foundation for assisting the industry in reducing exposures to loss. Based on this experience we provide pragmatic, tailored solutions to our industrial clients' needs and their operations throughout the world.

The position is based in one of our Swedish offices in Stockholm, Gothenburg, Sundsvall, or Malmö, however, travelling within Sweden and internationally is expected, to an extent of around 40-50 days per year. Working with us, you will be able to plan and organize your work independently and in close cooperation with your local and European colleagues.

About the team
As a Risk Engineer you will join our global If Risk Management Unit consisting of more than 45 engineers. If has the largest Risk Management Unit in the Nordic Insurance Market. While you will be part of the Swedish Team, you will be working in a truly international environment.

Our Engineers work in close cooperation with our Underwriting, Sales and Client organizations. Together our focus is to support our clients in the fields of Property and Business Interruption risks, as well as risks related to Construction Projects.

The Swedish team consist of highly experienced qualified engineers across our four offices and is a team with high level of cooperation. We support each other and join forces on larger accounts to service our clients in the best way. We focus on own responsibility and having a Work-Life balance where you will have the possibility to work flexible between office and home office and plan your assignments and travel in cooperation with clients.

Who are you?
You have strong proficiency in hazard identification and have risk assessment skills, with an emphasis in any of the fields – Forest Industry, Energy, Machinery and/or Chemical industry hazards.

You could also have a solid background from the mentioned or other heavy industry segment on which you can build risk engineering skills. It is not necessary to have experience as risk engineer at an insurer, but it is crucial to understand the circumstances and challenges our clients face in their operations.

We are interested in those with more and less experience as we have an experienced team to learn from if you need training and growing your skills. For experienced Risk Engineers you will find your peers in the team to share experience and knowledge with.

You work independently and proactively and have great analytical skills to use when conducting risk assessments and client consultations. You are a team player and you have highly developed social and communication skills. We are a team above all and support each other and bring the strength of the entire team with us into any assignment – we win together and when we don’t; we LEARN.
Understanding and knowledge of corporate risk management needs, sprinkler standards and other loss prevention standards is a merit, as well as good understanding and experience in working with international insurance programs.

You also have:
  • A Master of Science or bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
  • Fluency in Swedish and English and great report writing skills
