Description
The EMT shall provide direct patient care under the direction of the Registered Nurse. The EDT is responsible for k! nowing all policies and procedures related to the Emergency Department and all appropriate hospital wide policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Education:
High School graduate or equivalent.
Completion of an accredited EMT Training program.
Experience:
One year of direct patient care required.
Desirable characteristics include at least one year of experience as a EMT in the field or other clinical setting.
Must be able to follow directions and perform work according to departmental standards.
Must be emotionally mature and function effectively under stress.
Certification:
Must possess a current E.M.T. License in the State of Alabama Must maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS).
Must maintain current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
Must maintain current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
