Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
Location: Birmingham, Alabama
Description: UA Health Services Foundation (UAHSF/TKC) is in need of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer right now, this vacancy will be delegated in Alabama. Detailed specification about this vacancy opportunity please give attention to these descriptions. *****Will travel to other hospitals up to a few days monthly. Transportation will be provided. Rest of time spent at The Kirklin Clinic*****Responsi! ble for the operation of sonographic equipment and for performing and communicating results of diagnostic cardiac examinations. The sonographer may participate in training students, fellows, nurses in the area of cardiac ultrasound examination. The sonographer may participate with some research studies. This position requires the incumbent to travel throughout the state one (1) or possibly two (2) days per week.
Position Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Required: Graduate of a program accredited by The American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiolvascular Credentialing International (CCI). Must meet ARDMS or CCI requirements for registration. Minimum of 2 years experience in 2-D or 3-D echocardiography, Dobutamine, Stress Echoes, and Transesophageal Echo.
Must: (1) enter 4,000 keystrokes per hour; (2) possess basic knowledge of PC applications, software, and database management.
P! referred: Associates or Bachelor’s Degree. Pediatric tra! ining/certification is preferred.
LICENSE, CERTIFICATION AND/OR REGISTRATION:
Required: ARDMS or CCI registered or registry eligible in Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography. Must obtain certification within fourteen (14) months of employment. Current CPR certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
