Under supervision of and in coordination with the RN, this classification is responsible for setting up and handling sterile supplies and instruments for the surgeon, anticipating surgeon’s needs, maintaining an accurate account of sponges, and assures that all team members adhere to the principles of sterile technique. May be assigned to rotating and restocking OR rooms and cleaning of equipment. Responds to the unique needs of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients as the need arises. Minimum Qualifications This classification requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
Six months experience in a hospital setting or surgical technician certification. In most areas of the hospital, the certification is required. Knowledge of medical terminology or science coursework preferred. Posting Salary Minimum 13.10 Posting Salary Maximum 20.42 Employment Status Full Time Benefit Eligible Shifts Day / 1st Shift
